This Indiana farmhouse just got a BIG kitchen makeover! Click to see more photos and sources for this gorgeous space at LoveGrowsWild.com

Our little farmhouse kitchen got a BIG makeover! This week I’m sharing the full reveal of our new kitchen… you can catch up on the rest of the kitchen makeover series here!

This kitchen renovation has by far been the biggest undertaking in our farmhouse, both financially and physically. But after months of dreaming and planning, weeks of construction, weekends painting, and the last week of our lives cleaning and decorating… I am so proud to share our finished kitchen makeover with you! With as much time and work as we’ve put into it, I can honestly say that it was worth every penny, every inch of construction dust that has settled all over the house, and every day we spent without a functioning kitchen. Since the day we moved into this house almost 4 years ago, I have always pictured a beautiful, white kitchen that is the heart of our home… a place where we gather to bake cookies and do math homework and enjoy Sunday dinners together. But most of all, I’ve longed for the day that Jeremy and I sit could together around the breakfast table next to our big, sunlight-flooded windows, enjoying our first sips of coffee together each morning as we gaze out towards our backyard and our family’s farmland. The beautiful farm that my husband spent much of his childhood playing on and the farm that we want our children to grow up knowing, learning about, and loving as well…

As promised, I’m not making you guys wait another minute to see the full reveal of the kitchen, mostly because I just can’t keep it all to myself any longer! If you haven’t seen our kitchen “before” photos yet, I highly suggest you start here first. It will make this transformation even more dramatic, trust me! Over the next few weeks, I’ll post all the details of our cabinets, tile, appliances, etc. so feel free to leave a comment with any questions you have, and I will answer them all in the posts to come! But for today, let’s just enjoy all the pretty photos…

Welcome to our beautiful, new “modern farmhouse” kitchen!

Love it! We also live in an old farmhouse that’s been in my husband’s family for generations. A kitchen remodel is in our future too. What did you do with the baseboard radiators by the kitchen table? Is the floor a wood-look tile or real wood? What did you end up doing with the pantry?

    Reply
    • Liz Fourez says: March 9, 2016 at 11:34 am

Hey Becky! How fun and exciting! We updated the old gray baseboard heaters with new white ones. We used to have three in the kitchen along the short walls of the bay window, but we had our contractor eliminate two of them so just one sits along the back wall behind the kitchen table. It still puts out enough heat and looks much less cluttered. And I can finally hang curtains on those windows now!

The floor is tile that looks like wood: https://lovegrowswild.com/2016/02/kitchen-makeover-flooring/

And the now that we have all our food in the big pantry cabinet in the kitchen, the old pantry by the wash sink is used for a cleaning/utility closet for our vacuum, broom, cleaning supplies, lightbulbs, etc. It’s so nice to have that all organized now! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Liz. My name is Cheri and this is my first comment to your blog. I am big on pinterest, but am not a blogger, nor do I subscribe to any blog but yours. The reason being, I liked a lot of your DYI projects.

Your kitchen looks wonderful! You must be so happy with it, now that it is finally done. Did it turn out as you envision? Congrats to you and your family on this accomplishment!

I am spatially challenged. Was the bay window area always there or is it what was revealed after the wall was removed?

    Reply
    • Liz Fourez says: March 9, 2016 at 12:33 pm

Hi Cheri! I apologize for the delayed response… it’s been hectic behind-the-scenes lately, but I so appreciate your feedback! I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted for the kitchen design, but it is hard to really picture everything before it’s finished. I find that no matter how much I plan ahead, the last puzzle pieces of the design always fall into place as we go along! The wall we tore down was between the kitchen and living room, and the opposite side of the kitchen is where the bay window sat. It’s hard to show the full floor plan in pictures sometimes!

Stunning and very chic execution of Modern Farmhouse…..well done! I too am in love with a nearly all white look and black accents. I have the same fixture from IKEA over my sink and have been obsessing over a complimentary fixture to use over a small workbench that serves as my table. The two hanging in your lovely new kitchen are perfect!! Would you share with me where they are from? Many thanks and happy renovating!

So beautiful! Another question on the hardware (sorry I saw a lot of people already asked!) – In the photos of your kitchen the pulls look black, but the link you posted to Amazon the pull appears more goldish/brown. Are those the specific pulls you have, and do they just look darker in person? Thanks!

Hey Lindsay! Yes, they do look like a totally different color when you see them in photos online! That is the exact hardware we have in our kitchen though, and they look like a dark oil-rubbed bronze in person! I hope this helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

Beautiful! Loving your cabinet pulls. Where did you get them? We demo’d the kitchen last week and are now in the thick of it! Electrical inspection today and then drywall starts tomorrow.

Love love love this! I have been spending too much money buying samples of paint trying to find the perfect dark grey without it being too black for my doors as well! What color did you use if you don’t mind me asking? My beach house is all white tongue and groove and white trim…and i love the pop of grey doors with black hardware!

    Thanks!

I love all of your renovations. Amazing design. Especially the whitewash timber tile in the kitchen and hallway. I love the way it blends with the (oak?) wood floors in your entry because of the coloring. I love every detail. I do have one question. My husband hates tile and loves wood or engineered wood which is what we have (we’ve had a lot of water damage and engineered wood just doesn’t hold up). What he’s afraid of with tile is breakage. Our kitchen is above our basement and he’s worried that the longer tiles will crack. Have you had any issue or is your kitchen on a slab? Thanks for your post!

I love how you figured out this solution to mounting your curtains with those three windows. I have similar, which I could not do on the actual molding above the windows and could not figure out how to hang the rods. Seeing yours pictured within this post might help get rods up on our similar larger section of currently non curtain’ed windows. Thank you!
