Home blogger and interior decorator Liz Fourez shares warm, subtle touches of fall in her living room

It’s been such a whirlwind the last few weeks getting ready to launch Liz Fourez Interiors, and I figure I need to share these touches of fall I added to my living room with you guys before this season has come and gone! My seasonal decor gets a little more simple and subtle every year, and for fall I decided to warm up my main living spaces with warm, cozy colors and textures to bring in the feeling of fall without actually having to decorate specifically for fall.

I first added a few new pillows on the sofa in blush and cognac leather for an instant boost of warmth to the room. One of the reasons I love decorating with simple neutrals as the foundation is because it makes it so easy to switch things out seasonally or when I’m just ready to freshen up the space. I already had several solid neutral pillows on hand to layer with the new pillows I brought in.

For a pop of fall color, I placed some inexpensive faux stems in a bag hanging on a hook by the front door and shopped my decor cabinet for accessories for the coffee table. I choose antique brass bowls and candlesticks to continue with the “warmth” theme and small piece of pottery with some dried weeds from my backyard. Yes… I just said dried weeds from my backyard. 😆

I will list & link all the sources for you at the bottom of this post.

I found a couple pieces of fall-inspired art on clearance the other day to change up the look of this art shelf in the living room. By adding a few black frames and a cute wood and metal pumpkin patch sign, this vignette instantly feels a little more moody and dramatic for fall.

If you haven’t met my puppy before, this is Remy the French bulldog. He knows if he poses cute for momma and sits real still, he gets treats, and on this particular day he was really playing up the puppy dog eyes. I love this silly boy of mine.

I have honestly been thinking about painting the living room lately, but the way the bright white walls make the fall colors and that beautiful black front door pop… I think I talked myself out of it after seeing these photos. Tell me what you think of our simple fall living room and whether you’re a less is more or a MORE is more kind of decorator!

Liz you have inspired me since I bought your book a few years ago…like you my decorating has evolved. I am a less is more decorating. Everything is neutral in my home and my walls are painted alabaster by Sherwin Williams. It provides the neutral pallette to subtly change with the seasons. Don’t change your wall color. My home is small like yours and the white makes the home feel more open.

I love how the dog matches the rest of the house! You do that on purpose when you got him? Or was he the inspiration?
